Hello everybody again!
I just got back from Kota Bahru yesterday at 1am. Hehe… You must be wondering why of all places Kota Bahru, Kelantan? Well, free tickets from Air Asia ma. So thanks to Air Asia we get to cuti-cuti Malaysia and get to know my home country a little bit better. Therefore, mum, dad and I packed up and started our journey at 5.15am, 27th September 2007.
For starters, I was, or rather, we were ALL, blur and cranky (of course la, we all woke up at 4am!). And never in our lives did we ever have to run to catch a flight, much less Air Asia. But we had to this time. When we arrived at 6.47am, to our horror, the departure screen showed FINAL CALL. We found out that the flight was re-timed to 20mins earlier than recorded in our intinerary. No one informed us about that. So we ran for our lives to catch the plane. Fortunately, we were not the latest. Some came popping in 10-15mins after we caught our breath! Phew..
The flight was about 55mins. We arrived about 45mins later. It’s like driving from KL to Kajang. Ooh.. Breakfast was delicious Nasi Dagang. Yum.. Then immediately we went sight seeing and ended up at Pengkalan Kubor, border to Thailand. There’s a tax-free shopping place there but it feels like a prison more than anything because there were two layers of fence and when we left the area we had to go through the imigration.
Oh.. Next stop was this beautiful beach which was once called Pantai Cinta Berahi (Beach of Passionate Love). Beats me why it was named so. However, since the state govt changed hands, it was renamed Pantai Cahaya Bulan (Beach of Moonlight). Well, this picture will tell you how pretty it is.
We also went to Kuala Terengganu. It’s a neat little town. Everything is nearby and organised. The whole town is probably as big as the whole of Cheras combined. Neat eh? We went to the museum and only had enough energy to see one part of the huge museum. We left out another 4 places.
Just one more picture as I try my best to make everyone aware of the dying trade of traditional boat making.
Ok that’s a short highlight on my trip up north. Hehe.. Till the next time!!! Adios.
